Privacy policy
OnlySun helps you browse historical weather for travel planning. The product is a static website at onlysun.org. The Android app is a thin wrapper that shows that same site.
No accounts
We do not offer user accounts, and we do not ask you to sign in. We do not run analytics, advertising, or other third-party tracking scripts on the site today.
What stays on your device
The app may store data in your browser or WebView using local storage (not cookies), for example:
- Cached historical weather for places you have looked up
- Display preferences such as temperature unit
That data stays on your device. Clearing site or app storage removes it. We do not receive a copy of your cache.
Network requests
When you choose a place, your device requests data from public weather and map services:
- Open-Meteo archive and geocoding APIs (coordinates and place search)
- Map tile providers used by the location picker (Leaflet)
Those services receive the request details needed to answer (such as location coordinates or search text). OnlySun does not operate a backend that collects or stores your searches.
Android app
The Google Play app (application id org.onlysun) loads
https://onlysun.org in a WebView. It
needs network access for that. It does not add a separate analytics or
advertising SDK at this time.
Cookies
OnlySun does not set cookies for its own features. Third-party endpoints you contact (weather or map tiles) may use their own technical mechanisms according to their policies.
Children
OnlySun is a general-audience travel tool. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes (for example if ads are added later), we will update this page and the date above.
